Charlotte Straker

Every July we stage a golf tournament at Matfen Hall Hotel. The event usually attracts at least 18 teams from local people and businesses in the Tyne Valley and Newcastle.

Between 2003 and 2005 we were fortunate to enjoy the sponsorship of Wise Speke, who have been great supporters of Charlotte Straker. In 2006 The Hexham Courant took over sponsorship of the tournament which they renewed in 2007.   The event was sponsored in 2008, 2009 and again in 2010 by Joyce Developments, Corbridge.  The event raises approximately £5,000 and funds are spent on specific projects in the care home.

The event on 15th July 2010 was won by 'The Paper Shop' team made up of John Graham, Jack Maltby, Murray Beattie and John Wilson.  Congratulations to them!
