Social activities

Charlotte Straker provides a wide range of social activities in which residents are free to participate should they wish. These include a regular art class, quiz nights, live music, board games and themed lunches. Each day residents are invited to gather in the lounge for a pre-lunch drink.

A Church of England Communion service is held in the house every month and WRVS provides a library service offering a wide selection of books for all tastes in normal and large print as well as audio cassettes for residents with impaired vision.

We also encourage residents to take full advantage of the specialist transport provided to visit places throughout the Region. These include drama and music at the Queen's Hall Hexham, local garden centres, shopping at the Metro centre and WI meetings in Corbridge. Those with a passion for sport can be taken to see the local cricket and football teams in action. Residents are not allowed to keep pets in the house but "Pat a dog" visits weekly.
